Since the Giovanni Segantini exhibition, organized by the Segantini Museum in collaboration with the Kunstmuseum St. Gallen in 1999 to mark the 100th anniversary of the artist’s death, the Segantini Museum has held a small but noteworthy summer exhibition at irregular intervals.

These exhibitions focus on specific aspects of Giovanni Segantini’s works or examine their reception in contemporary art. The following special exhibitions have taken place in recent years:

  • 2001 Back home – The works of the Otto Fischbacher/Giovanni Segantini Foundation
  • 2004 «Ave Maria Crossing the Lake» – Idyll, Devotion and Symbol
  • 2008 Segantini’s Maid: Muse and Model
  • 2011 Guest of Honor: Springtime in the Alps

  • 2018 Franz Wanner and Giovanni Segantini – A Dialog
