The introductory text on the life and work of Segantini (1858-1899) also sheds light on the eventful history of his reception and his position as a model for the Futurists or for Joseph Beuys.
The picture analyses provide new insights into topography, iconography, the significance of light, the role of Barbara Uffer as the artist's model, the modern painting style of Divisionism, and the biography of Giovanni Segantini.
